Nurse Practitioner Student Scholarships
Sponsored by NPALI
Student NP Scholarships of $1500 will be awarded to a total of four eligible candidates yearly. Deadline for application is March 9, 2012.
Criteria:
- Must have been active in nursing practice from 3-5 years.
- A second year student in a conventional or online/distance learning Master's program.
- Require at least a 3.5 average.
- Required to be a member of NPALI.
Application Process:
- Letter of intent up to 500 but no less than 300 words.
- Must include a Curriculum Vitae and official transcript record.
- Returned or postmarked by date announced in Advocate, Web site, and Dinner meetings.
- To be mailed to the NPALI mailbox.
- Other information if needed upon request.
DNP Scholarship
Sponsored by NPALI
One student per semester will recieve $2500. Deadline March 9, 2012.
Criteria:
- Member of NPALI for at least 2 years.
- Submit Curriculum Vitae
- Attends at least 2 dinner meetings or the Annual conference.
- Submit a letter of intent of 500 words.
- Preferably has served on a Committee.
- Precepts Student NP's
- Provide a copy of your transcript from the school where you are pursuing your DNP.
Research Grant Applications
- Nurse Practitioners are encouraged to participate in research as students as well as members of the scientific community. Goals for the Research Committee include but are not limited to:
- Encourage the development of Nurse Practitioner researchers.
- Encourage NPALI members to review and complete the National Institute of Nursing Research credentialing at www.nih.gov/ninr. This course is free of charge and is for “Developing Nurse Scientists”.
- Encourage NPALI members to review and complete the National Cancer Institute’s “Protecting Human Research Participants” at http://phrp.nihtraining.com This on-line certification course is free of charge.
- Provide funding opportunities to NPALI members who have developed and completed the appropriate NPALI Research Grant Application
Develop a journal club that will meet a minimum of twice a year where members interested in research activities can learn to conduct a search for appropriate and relevant research articles. Research Committee members will meet twice a year and as needed to review Research Grant Applications
